The London College of Music Facility Expansion, with Focusrite's RedNet
Thursday 19th May, 18:30-21:00
In 2014, the University of West London and the London College of Music began construction of the world's largest RedNet installation - building a Dante audio-over-IP network that spanned their extensive complement of recording studios and performance spaces.
Two years later, UWL's decision to create a RedNet system has turned out to be even more significant than was realised at the time. The building site visible in our previous RedNet video is now the new Weston Hall, with new radio studios and two 20-machine Mac-based labs, all with Dante connectivity.
Now the University is building six new studios on their Paragon campus four miles away. The original idea was simply to link the studios internally with a Dante network - but with the establishment of a microwave link between the two campuses, the University has begun to experiment with sending Dante data via microwave link, allowing the network to span both sites.
UWL's Network Story Told
