We are looking for a talented Marketing Manager to ensure that all marketing plans and briefs are created fit for purpose to deliver both the Marketing Strategy & Vision and wider business objectives with the best ROI, working to strict time scales and budgets. As Marketing Manager you will work with the team to create and communicate marketing plans and briefs for both the Novation and Focusrite brands, in line with our global marketing vision and brand strategies. These will be applied on a global scale working with territory managers to ensure consistent and cohesive implementation, including new product launches and range sustaining plans. 

Assisted by the Marketing Executive, you will work alongside both the product owners and the marketing services team. The Marketing Manager will act as a mentor for both the Product Owners and the Marketing Executive to further develop their marketing acumen. This role will also work closely with the Creative Director, utilising to full effect the expertise of the marketing services team.

Core role responsibilities

  • Create comprehensive timelines and briefs for quarterly product focuses, representing optimum ROI and ensuring buy-in from Sales, Marketing and Product teams.
  • Work with the Marketing Director to translate Product Master Messaging Documents into actionable Marketing Plans and Briefs with defined success metrics in line with the Business Case.
  • Drive Territory Marketing to create plans and briefs aligned with the global vision, annual brand strategies and quarterly plans.
  • Continue development of an efficient and effective marketing planning process for both global and territory marketing. 
  • Identify, develop and fully utilise the collective strengths, talents and experience of the team to ensure the most innovative solutions and products.
  • Continually maintain and improve planning process and communication of changes over time to the Executive board, services team, territory marketing and other key stakeholders.
  • Ensure that all plans and briefs are delivered on time and budget to meet the Business Objectives.
  • Apply commercial insight to all marketing activity to maximise ROI.

Abilities and experience required

  • 6+ years’ experience in planning and briefing modern marketing strategies.
  • Experience in marketing or selling global consumer tech brands.
  • You’ll have worked within or dealt extensively with standard sales channels – Distributors & Retailers.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of modern digital marketing tactics.
  • Use of marketing data analysis to guide marketing strategy and improve ROI.
  • Formal marketing qualification – Masters or Diploma.
  • Superb communication and interpersonal skills; as well as working alongside multiple teams at Head Office this role involves bringing together disparate global sales and marketing teams so you’ll need to show you’ve excelled at this in the past
  • Diplomacy, tenacity and assertiveness are essential.

Role Overview

Focusrite is the number one selling audio interface brand worldwide. Our products, such as audio interfaces and synthesizers, are used by top performers and professional music studios. Combined with the Novation brand, we introduce a lot of new products each year to an already extensive portfolio and we are widely known and respected. Our company is growing and a strong year on year performance means we have created a new full-time role at our High Wycombe head office.

The role is based in the company’s research and development department, working as a member of the Production Engineering team. The team is responsible for generating and managing all the Design for Manufacture data (BOM management, ECO generation, mechanical CAD, etc.), as well as direct engineering support of our vendors, both in the UK and Far East, plus management of UK prototype builds. There are opportunities for travel to the Far East.

You will need to work well autonomously, being able to own, take responsibility for and deliver high quality results to the agreed deadlines. You will also work well in a team, contributing to the development and ongoing improvement of the Production Engineering department.

The role will report to the Production Engineering Manager.

Key responsibilities:

  • Provide Production Engineering support to our NPI (New Product Introduction) projects and to ongoing production
  • BOM & ECO management
  • Production assembly work instructions
  • Ensure the data released to our vendors and sub-contractors is of the highest quality, and clearly presented
  • Manage the prototype build process:
  • Manage UK and overseas component and PCB suppliers
  • Manage internal and external resources for electronic and mechanical prototype assembly
  • Plan and deliver working PCB prototypes to support NPI project plans
  • Conduct PCB design analysis, build quality verification, and rework as required
  • Work as part of a growing Production Engineering team, and in close collaboration with the Electronics Hardware team, to support the product development programme.

  • BEng / BSc degree, preferably in a related engineering subject – Electronics, Electrical, Mechanical, Manufacturing Systems, Production, etc.

Leading a team of 5+ software engineers, this role will be central to our mission of delivering fantastic software for Focusrite and Novation products. Working closely alongside the Hardware, QA and Production Management teams, you will be supporting the delivery of our New Product Introduction (NPI), as well as maintaining existing products. You will also be involved with software development projects, as well as the evaluation and improvement of development processes and tools. You will help drive new product design, researching new product ideas and technologies.

You will also be involved with the recruitment of new software engineers.

Role Description

The successful candidate will:

  • Be responsible for managing the development and delivery process for new electronic hardware and PC/Mac/iOS software products, across the Focusrite and Novation portfolio, ensuring consistent excellence in Quality, Ease of Use, and Reliability.
  • Apply and manage the Focusrite Project System (FPS), with level one project delivery plans, and detailed stage plans with deliverables and review gates.
  • Work closely with the market segment teams, planning and coordinating the stage deliverables from Product Concept Validation through to 1st Customer Ship. Project ownership will be for the entire process “End to End”, including deliverables from Product Management, R&D, Engineering, Marketing, Sales and Customer Service.
  • Be responsible for estimating project costs, tracking the project performance measures (schedule/cost/quality), and reporting status regularly to the Programme Manager.
  • Contribute as part of the Project Management team, owning and delivering multiple parallel projects, to the successful deliver the full project programme.

  • Degree level education.
  • A technical background, with the ability to understand and assess the schedule and risk, in the planning and delivery of consumer hardware and software projects.
